Training
All assembly and manufacturing personnel take part in the IKE Micro Skill Matrix. All job descriptions are clearly defined and each job description has certain levels that can be attained by each operator. Operators can move up in levels with formal training, job experience and improved skills. They must pass all defined guidelines before moving up a level. All cleanroom and Quality Control personnel are trained and internally certified to MIL-STD 883 assembly guidelines and cleanroom protocol. All SMT and hand soldering personnel are certified to IPC-A-610, J-STD-001 and IPC-7711. Inspection personnel are trained and certified to IPC-A-610, Rev D, Classes 1,2,3. Our Quality Engineering and Assurance Manager is a certified IPC-A-610 training specialist. All manufacturing personnel receive formal ESD training.
Continuous Improvement
After many successes and our share of failures, we focus on the most important areas for continuous improvement. Each of these target areas contains a whole host of initiatives needed for us to improve our performance. We capture data on internal rework, customer returns, on-time delivery, “at risk” assembly functions, and individual job productivity. By providing an open forum for communication and by quantifying variances, we continually make progress in the right direction. Our customers and suppliers have also been a great source for continuous improvement. We have been able to incorporate many of their best practice policies and ideas.
